You know what.
Depending on the day….
I amaze myself…
I mean how good it sounds…Well not often…but it does happen…lol
And then the very next day…
I amaze myself again…
How bad it sounds….
Whether my guitar…
Or my singing…
It bounces back and forth…
In my case…it mostly sounds bad though…lol
OK, I been playing coming up on 19 months now.
And often I just think I sound awful.
Reminds me of what one football coach said.
“You are never as good as your best Sunday. And you are never as bad as your worst Sunday.”
Sounds good to my mind…
It is hard to convince yourself of it…
So what do you do?
Record yourself!
Yeah…Is aid it….Record yourself.
Often.
You see you listen to yourself today and you compare yourself to the people you are attempting to emulate.
And of course it sounds very bad in that comparison.
But…
If you have a recording of yourself…say two months ago.
You will sound very good in comparison.
You will note how your singing runs are coming together better.
You will note how you are singing in a little better tune…
You will see that your chord changes are getting cleaner.
Yep…
You compare yourself to yourself from two or three months ago..and you are comparing yourself to a player that has less experince than you do now…a player with less training than you have now…
You will sound better…
Than comparing yourself to Sam Cooke or Otis Redding.
So yep…
Go head and Record and listen to yourself.
And you will feel much better about your playing..
The key to feel better about your singing…
So yes…compare yourself to the greats…
And when you compare yourself to the greats…slow the music down so you can hear it and move the music down into your range….Do that with this great and important software program
Riffmasterpro…
but also spend some time comparing yourself to who you once were.
RECORD YOURSELF!
