Today, I didn’t feel like playing…
Lol…
That’s why I wrote This article the other day.
So I picked up the Guitar during my practice time….
And I played some songs that I wanted to play.
I love listening to Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers.
Now this is Blues Based Gospel…
So it is on the more simple side….
3 chords gives you most of the songs…I have written about that here.
So I popped up my IPHONE and looked at a couple of Soul Stirrers songs…
And just started to sing them.
Picking out the chords as I went along.
Sometimes the chords weren’t exactly right…but if they were close, it sounds allright.
And then I picked out another song.
What this does for me?
It helps my ear….
It helps my timing…
It helps my vocal…
I must admit though that my chording skills are not improving because I am still mostly playing in the key of A. But hey at least I am doing something and remember the first rule of practicing…
Doing anything is better than doing nothing…
So go head…get some basic songs and attempt to play 3 or 4 chord versions of the songs…
I ain’t talking about grabbing a Tab…but I’m talking about figuring it out yourself…
